Coffee Facts

Norbey Ibarra farms Caturra on his La Tigrera farm in the San Agustin Archaeological park, a UNESCO protected natural reserve in Isnos, one of the subregions of the famous Huila department in south western Colombia. Coffee now grows at 1,800m, not far from where pilgrims used to to travel to San Agustin along the Alto del Tigre route through the Andean foothills.

There are so many different flavours available from this country, but across the board, coffees from Colombia tend to have a beautiful balance, and this is no exception. We've sourced several coffees from Huila in the past, and we're big fans of the flavours associated with the region.

Picked by hand, and processed with the fully washed method, this lot is really sweet, and perfect for autumn. Expect masses of blackberries, toffee apples, with a big chewy caramel finish. It'll work in every brew method, but our favourite (at the moment) is via a V60, although it also makes a delicious espresso.
