Nyantira is located on Tanzania’s Northern border with Kenya within the region of Tarime.
One of our team, Ben, left NewGround in 2021 to work with the producers of this coffee, Kijani Hai.
Recognising the untapped potential of this remote region, Kijani Hai provided the initial investment to build only the second wet mill in the region’s history. The first to be owned by the farmers themselves. With Nyantira up and running farmers are now being paid 6 months faster, and at x3 more for their coffee.
This Nyantira washed coffee exudes the classic East Africa high citric acidity, sugar sweetness, smooth body and dark berry characteristics. You’d be forgiven for mistaking it for a top quality Kenyan!
