Mierisch is one of the best-known names in Nicaraguan coffee. A coffee-growing family since 1908, they operate 10 farms across Nicaragua’s best growing regions, with their coffees regularly placing in Cup of Excellence competitions. This lot is from the San Jose farm, located on the misty hillsides of Matagalpa (Nicaragua’s capital).
This rare bean varietal, Javanica, is this farm’s specialty-- their large beans are packed with flavor and complexity, with a silky chocolate texture and sweet, aromatic fruit flavors. A Javanica from Mierisch won honors in the Cup of Excellence in 2017.
