Coffee Facts

Our Duchess blend contains three perfectly paired origins to work in harmony together and create a rich, chocolaty depth with a nutty character some red fruit sweetness and a low acidity.

The Brazil component is from producer Marcos Antonio de Freitas of Fazenda São Jose in Sul de Minas. Marcos has a pretty sizeable operation and hence ensures us year-long of constant and reliable high quality coffee. He grows the Mundo Novo varietal and dries the coffee naturally. These beans add a consistent character of rich chocolate body and red plum sweetness to our Duchess. It’s a total of 60% of the blend ensuring plenty of depth and rich taste.

The Guatemalan origin is a washed lot sourced from producers in the Huehuetenango region making up 30% of the blend adding nutty macadamia notes and dark chocolate.

The Ethiopian is a washed process sourced from producer Khalid Kemal which we’re working with yearlong for our Duchess blend. This component makes up 10% of the blend adding sweet caramel and plum notes without overpowering on acidity. Like a cherry on top!

For a blend the Duchess is pretty darn special! All the components are constant throughout the year harvest to harvest, to ensure consistency and longstanding commitment.
