Coffee Facts
Mount Sunzu is an ambitious project: to create a model farm from scratch, showcasing peak coffee production. Founded by Swiss trio Luca and Yanik Costa and Fridolin Stocker in 2020 Their plan involved using modern agricultural technology to conserve and rejuvenate the environment, all while benefiting the local community.
This coffee was processed on-site at Mount Sunzu’s own wet and dry mill at the foot of Zambias highest mountain near the northern border with Tanzania. After selective picking, ripe cherries were floated, before being spread out on raised drying beds for 30 days, being covered at night and during rain. Following this, the coffee was hulled, graded, hand winnowed and sorted in Mount Sunzu’s dry processing facilities.
The resulting coffee has plenty of tasty almond flavour, bright and juicy berries, and a hint of rich chocolate. We think it’s a great start and we hope you enjoy!
