Coffee growing in Burundi is centred around fourteen regions - which range in altitude from 1300 - 1800m. The major varieties grown are Bourbon, Jackson, and Mibrizi.

Burundi coffee tends to have strong berry fruit flavours.
Historically it has been difficult to trace Burundi coffee back beyond groupings of washing stations, but it is becoming more common to be able to trace back to at least an individual washing station.
