About
We are Father's Coffee - A small family business, a big dream come true. Dad roasts honestly, mom tastes passionately and the growing children look on enthusiastically.
Coffee is our passion and we love working with it. It was love at first sight and since 2013 everything in our lives revolves around selective coffee. We remember the first time we tasted espresso from Kenya and how surprised we were by its taste. Clean, fruity and sweet. We fell in love with coffee like this and a few months later we started the Cokafe brand. We worked in our own cafes in Ostrava for several years. Behind the bar, in the kitchen and wherever it was needed.
We also wanted foreign experience, so we went to Berlin for a while and worked as baristas at Five Elephant. That's where our first thoughts on our own roaster were created. We were attracted by the transformation of green beans, the smell of roasting and the approach to the farms and the coffee itself. Two years later, our dream came true, and in spring 2018 we baked our first coffee under the brand Name Father's Coffee on our Diedrich.
With a careful and sensitive approach, we try to highlight the natural and unique taste of each coffee. Each requires different roasting. An important task of the roaster is to create coffee her roasting profile. It is determined mainly by the change in temperature, air supply and roasting time. Equally important are the technologies we work with. They must be reliable and consistent and that's why we roast on the American 5-pound IR-5 sleeper from Diedrich Roasters. We record each roasting in Cropster so that we can check and trace everything back. We choose all the coffee according to our taste and look for its sweet, clean and fragrant tones. At the same time, however, we think about the end customer and we try to have a coffee offer so that everyone can choose according to their taste.
Dog and Hat
During the 2020 lockdown, a lot of roasters had to look for new ways of getting their coffee out to consumers and we were contacted by a lot of new roasters. One that stood out to us with both their story and their coffee was Fathers from Ostrava in the Czech Republic. They were a husband and wife team working in the roastery and looking after two small children... and that really struck a chord with us. The sample box they sent over to us was like an Aladdin's cave of goodies and we have been waiting ever since to line them up for the main subscription.
