Whilst the Worka Chelichele washing station is technically situated in Gedeb Woreda, difference in microclimates mean that the producers delivering cherry to this station are actually in Yirgacheffe. Yirgacheffe coffees are highly anticipated each year, as the region is well known for its super floral washed coffees. At slightly above 1900m, Worka Chelichele is a very well equipped washing station, with 12 standardised fermentation tanks to ensure consistency in their washed process coffees, and 360 distinctly labelled drying beds to handle a greater volume and ensure traceability between lots.

Beyond this, the station provides training focused on both harvesting and transporting cherry, in order to ensure quality year after year for their producers.
This harvest, the Chelichele stood out to us for the same reasons we look forward to fresh Yirgacheffe coffees every year, bursting with rose florals and strawberry sweetness. Another year, another super clean, super bright, and absolutely nice filter coffee!
