How was the Roastery founded, what was the inspiration?

Steampunk was founded in 2012 when we started selling coffees at festivals and markets from our vintage VW campervan. At that time we roasted the coffee in our garage, but in 2014 we moved into our beautiful warehouse building in the center of North Berwick from where we continue to roast and run a busy cafe.

What's your favourite part about working at the Roastery?

Tasting fantastic coffees and sharing the best ones with our customers! Every day we pinch ourselves because we can’t believe that we get paid to cup coffee.

What's your proudest accomplishment?

Our proudest accomplishment is establishing a well-loved community space in our town, and creating a fun work environment for people who are passionate about coffee and community. We get excited every day roasting interesting new coffees and hearing people’s feedback on them.
