How was the Roastery founded, what was the inspiration?

Ue Coffee was established in 2009 as the first and only UK wood roaster. During the pandemic in 2020 we established as a specialty coffee roaster elevating and progressing our offering and machinery to move us forwards on a new journey.

What's your favourite part about working at the Roastery?

It is a super interesting job because I work with many different coffee beans, origins and providers. You must create the right roast profile for each coffee bean so we can enhance the coffee’s own flavour. I love cupping all the roasted batches during the QC stage.

What's your proudest accomplishment?

As a roaster, I am a certified Q Arabica Grader in since 2020. One of the toughest weeks that I have been through where there were 19 different exams to undertake.

I am SCA Barista Professional since July 2016 I was able to pass that certificate in Barcelona, Spain.

What three words best describe your Roastery?
Unique - Maverick - Progressive
What’s your favourite place to enjoy a coffee, and what coffee would that be?

My favourite coffee would be directly from the coffee farm surrounded by the mountains in Colombia in the village of Planadas, due to the strong relationships that I have built with them. In the UK I enjoy visiting London when I can and seeing specialty grow in the capital and trying fresh batch brews.

Finally, what Dog & Hat combination would you choose?

For me, you cannot beat a German Sheppard in a trucker cap. Classic combo.
