This washed smallholder lot comes from the Jaen, the main city in the Cajamarca region of northern Peru. Cajamarca's rich volcanic soils, tropical rainfalls and ideal climate create the perfect growing conditions for high-quality Arabica. Our green coffee sourcing partner Falcon Coffees has established a warehouse and QC lab in Jaen, part of their Blueprint project label, where they are able to give the smallholder farms immediate quality analysis, and cupping scores, ensuring economic transparency for every contributing household. The farmers who have contributed to this lot employ traditional processing techniques, using hand pulping machines, fermentation tanks, and patios fr drying.
