Coffee Facts

Hidden within a valley 331 kilometers south of Bogotá, Gaitania is part of Tolima’s captivating landscape, where volcanic soil and high altitudes create the foundation for exceptional coffee cultivation. Ranging from 1,700 to 1,900 meters, the coffee farms in this region benefit from nutrient-rich soil, enriched by volcanic activity and high in potassium and nitrogen—ideal for producing complex and vibrant coffees.

This lot comes from the Nasa Wesx Indigenous community, known for their commitment to sustainable farming and environmental stewardship. Their coffee undergoes a meticulous washed process: hand-sorted to select only the ripest cherries, carefully de-pulped, and dried on raised beds for a clean and consistent result.

With flavor notes of stone fruit, caramel, citrus, chocolate, and delicate florals, this coffee highlights the natural bounty of the region and the dedication of its producers. Gaitania’s unique conditions and history make it a standout origin for specialty coffee.
