About
Sam & Alice Young founded the roastery in the summer of 2017. Sam worked as a roaster for an Australian roastery for four years prior to moving to Edinburgh. Obadiah was founded with a strong desire to share an honest coffee experience.
In order to accentuate the expressive character of a coffee, an in-depth understanding of the raw material is required. We partner with progressive growers and producers who ensure each coffee cherry is nurtured and the quality of its seed preserved. By sourcing and roasting soon after harvest, our offering is resolutely seasonal and pays homage to the distinct nature of each coffee.
