La Linda, which means 'the beautiful' or 'the lovely', was named one morning when the first Java trees that Pedro planted were beginning to flower. Pedro was having breakfast at the farm and as he sipped his coffee and gazed out at the landscape before him - he thought what a beautiful sight it was. And so, he named it La Linda.
Agricafe was founded by Pedro Rodriguez and is run by himself and his children, Daniela and Pedro Pablo.
The farm is located in the colony of Bolinda, which lies in a lush, steep mountain valley around 10 kilometres outside of the town of Caranavi.
The Rodriguez family decided to keep 60% of the land at La Linda as a nature reserve. They wanted to make this a ‘model’ farm that other producers in the area can learn from. The plots themselves are planted amongst the trees as an agroforest.
