Hello 2022 and welcome to another new year of great coffee.

To start the year off we are welcoming two new roasters to the Dog and Hat family as well as saying hello to two returning favourites.

Don't forget to click the link to see the January Dialled In subscription coffee in more detail.

Triple Co Coffee (Bristol) - Rwanda Washed [SCA - 86.5]

Strangely, for a city with such a strong coffee culture and history of coffee roasting, this is only the second time that we find ourselves visiting Bristol in the coffee subscription.

We head down to the south-west this month because Jo and his team at Triple Co Coffee have found a gem of a coffee exclusively for us this month in the shape of the Rwanda Gitwe #137.

This washed Rwanda coffee is so sweet and juicy and all of our 'main subscription' members will be receiving this omni-roast coffee with notes of Blood Orange, Cantaloupe Melon and Redcurrants.

Climpsons and Son (London) - Ethiopia Natural  [SCA - 84]

Making a welcome return to the sub this month is one of the original trailblazers of the speciality coffee scene here in the UK - Climpson and Son.

We are once again featuring a classic washed Ethiopia from the Sidamo region, which is something of a house-speciality for Climpsons.  They are roasting this coffee for us a bit lighter than they normally do to bring out more of the acidity in the cup.

All our 'main' subscription subscribers will also be receiving this omni-roast coffee to enjoy with its notes of Toffee, Milk Chocolate and Orange Marmalade.

Glen Lyon Coffee (Glen Lyon, Scotland) - Colombia Pink Bourbon Washed [SCA - 86]

Roasters in the UK can be found in all sorts of places - under railway arches, on industrial parks, converted farmhouses, etc - but I think you would be hard pressed to find a roaster in a prettier location than the wonderful Glen Lyon (just head over to their Instagram to see what we mean).

We are super-excited about the coffee they have for us this month too as we've been trying to include a Colombian Pink Bourbon coffee since we first tried the variety 3 years ago on our SCA training down at Curious Roo.

This Pink Bourbon has been sourced from one of the best importers around at the moment too, Cata Export (who sourced the Luz Coffee Project for us last year).

This coffee has a wonderful acidity and notes of Pink Grapefruit and Demerara Sugar (although, to us, we keep going back to a Champagne tasting note with Pink Bourbon).

All our Bag 3 members will be receiving this omni-roast coffee and here is a TIP FROM DAVE - if you are using this on espresso you will probably want to grind it quite fine to lessen off the Grapefruit acidity.

Chimney Fire Coffee (Dorking, Surrey) - El Salvador Natural [SCA - 86]

Another place we don't tend to visit that much in the coffee subscription is Surrey, but we are very happy that we are this month.

The team down at Chimney Fire are continuing the run of amazing El Salvador coffee that we are on at the moment with this fantastic natural process from the El Cipres farm in the Santa Ana region.

This omni-roast coffee will be heading to all our 4 bag subscribers to enjoy its Strawberry Jam, Wine Gums and Caramel goodness.

Dialled In Traditional

Our traditional subscribers will be receiving a washed Colombia from the Narino region roasted for us by Triple Co with notes of Milk Chocolate and Sticky Caramel.

Complementing that is a washed coffee from Peru roasted for us by Chimney Fire with notes of Chocolate, Biscuit and Blackberry.

Dialled In Decaf

Our decaf subscribers will be receiving a double whammy of Colombia Sugarcane decaf from Triple Co and Chimney Fire to compare and contrast.
