Hello November, goodbye Halloween and let the Festive rush begin!
Talking of Christmas, if you are a subscriber and would like someone to buy you a gift card to apply to your subscription as your Christmas gift, please point them here. Every year we hear from subscribers who have not specified they love Dog and Hat and have been gifted coffee they do not want instead. If you get a gift card just email me and I will discount this against your subscription.
This month we finally have the chance to work with the amazing team down at Campbell and Syme in London. Not only is the coffee amazing, but they have great packaging too - these have been a huge hit in the office with their lovely, marbled effect. Then we have the lovely people at Redemption Roasters back with their goal of reducing offending rates through coffee. Finally, we have two more new to us roasters in &Bloss from Kent and Argyll Coffee roasters (aiming to knock Glen Lyon off the 'Most Scenic Roaster' perch) - both were subscriber recommendations, so thank you!
Don't forget to click the link to see the November Dialled In subscription coffee in more detail.
Remember, if there are any coffees you are not receiving in your subscription option, but you like the look of, head over to the members area and add-on a bag or two.
Campbell and Syme (London) - Guatemala White Honey
Campbell and Syme are a roaster with an incredible reputation, and we are so happy to finally get the chance to work with them this month. Not only that, but they have found us this White-Honey Processed Guatemala with notes of Tuttit Frutti from one of our favourite coffee importers, Coffee Bird.
All our 'main' subscription members will be receiving this omni-roast coffee to enjoy.
Redemption Roasters (Aylesbury) - East Timor Washed
Always welcome in the subscription are Redemption, as it's such a great programme for rehabilitation in UK Prision's.
At their roastery at HMYOI Aylesbury, they train young offenders in barista, coffee production, and roasting skills — as well as roasting incredible coffee for their 4 London coffee shops and our network of over 100 wholesale clients. They also run barista academies at 3 other prisons, namely HMP Wormwood Scrubs, Spring Hill and Bullingdon. What's not to love about Redemption?
This time they are bringing a Washed East Timor to the table with notes of Orange, Raisin and Hazelnut for all our 'main' subscription members.
&Bloss (Ashford - England) - DR Congo Natural
These guys are lovely, I called them a couple of months ago and proposed they come into the subscription based on a subscriber's recommendation. Luke did seem a little sceptical about the call out of the blue for hundreds of bags of coffee but signed up with us and we are good friends now.
They have a range of diverse coffees, that other roasters do not have at the moment, and we went for their Natural DR Congo, which has clean notes of Cranberry, Kiwi and Lime. While it's not the easiest coffee to work with, the payoff is great - we really love how unique this coffee is.
All our Bag 3 and 4 members will be receiving this coffee.
Argyll Coffee (Scotland) - Tanzania Washed
Another subscriber recommendation here, and they have a lovely bag with a little red house on, what's not to love. Again, we called them out of the blue and they had heard about us and were excited to meet the subscribers.
This is washed Tanzania Washed with flavours of Gooseberry, Pear and Caramel - this really stood out on our cupping table with the Gooseberry, which makes a nice change.
All our Bag 4 members will be receiving this coffee
Dialled In Traditional
This month's traditional is brought to you by Redemption and Cambell and Syme, two strong chocolate-based coffees.
The Campbell and Syme is a blend of Colombia and Brazil while Redemption has gone for a Brazil and Nicaragua blend.
Dialled In Decaf
This month's decaf is brought to you by Campbell and Syme, which is a washed EA Columbia with notes of Milk Chocolate, Peanut Brittle and Candied Pecan which will be lovely.
The next coffee here is from Redemption with is a washed EA Columbia with note of Apricot, Caramel and Pecan
Pecan and Pecan kind of decaf month!
