We source the finest Arabica beans from Papua New Guinea and other renowned origins, ensuring each cup embodies quality and authenticity. 

Why PNG?

Papua New Guinea accounts for approximately 1% of global coffee production, and historically contributes well under 1% of total UK coffee imports.

Production in PNG is largely smallholder-based, with thousands of independent farmers cultivating coffee on small family plots across the Highlands. This decentralised structure, combined with the country’s remote geography and distance from major consuming markets, has limited large scale commercial export compared to origins such as Brazil or Vietnam.

Sea freight from PNG to the UK can take 42-56 days, and global shipping routes naturally prioritise higher volume markets. As a result, PNG remains one of the most distinctive yet underrepresented origins in the UK.

At Bru House, we see this not as a limitation but as an opportunity.

By focusing specifically on bringing Papua New Guinea coffee into the UK market, we are working to increase availability, strengthen supply consistency, and introduce more roasters to the unique character of this origin.
