About Us
Dog & Hat Coffee Club
A monthly speciality coffee subscription
For the love of Coffee!
Our goal is to provide you with an exceptionally varied selection of the highest quality coffees that this country's roasters have to offer with minimal fuss (we also include a few European roasters).
Great Coffee from the finest Roasters
We get a real kick out of researching coffees for our site - when talking to new roasters, we find the passion they have for coffee and the communities that grow it is infectious...and we're inspired to drive that passion to a wider audience.
Ethically Sourced
We only choose roasters that understand the need for ethical sourcing of beans. This means complete traceability for the beans they use and a fair deal for the farming communities that grow them.
Supporting Good Causes
Dog and Hat Coffee Club supports a charity each month as we believe that giving back to the community is an important part of doing business right.
“When we started Dog & Hat, we never dreamed we'd have the privilege of connecting with so many coffee lovers. We're proud to be a part of a great community of speciality coffee enthusiasts, from amazing independent roasters, coffee shop connoisseurs and at home brewers.
We want to share that passion far and wide to ensure more people can enjoy better coffee at home, discover fantastic independent roasters and learn the virtues of all those involved—from farm to their cup."
Meet Our Team
Su Morgan
Founder
I completed a Music Technology degree in Leeds whist working for Vodafone fault finding group. Moving on to work for IT system solution companies, achieving certifications for Firewall, Cisco Networking and numerous security solutions, winning several awards for innovative solutions.
Moving to London I became a Head of Technical Sales for a software company in SE London, we focused on working with Airports, Train Operators and Mobile Phone Operators, a great job that means travelling the UK and the world, detailing real time complex system solutions to the likes of AT&T, Vodafone and UK airports.
Next we had two fantastic children, which meant I couldn’t go back to travelling the UK or even less the world, the company I worked for got bought during my maternity leave so I could not return, which meant there had to change, and I love change.
So, we upped sticks, moved to York and started Dog & Hat!
Emma Rowe
eCommerce and Office Manager
After earning my NVQ Level 3 in Horse Care and Management in Doncaster, I moved to the Yorkshire Dales at 16 to begin a career in the racing industry. Working across several training yards, I managed teams that travelled horses for races both in the UK and overseas. My role covered everything from daily exercise and training to complex medical care, and I even held an Amateur Jockeys license for both Flat and Jump racing.
Life eventually brought me back to my hometown of York. My lifelong love of animals led me to co-manage a dog-walking business with a close friend, where I focused on staff training and team leadership. Always eager for a new challenge, I met Su through our children’s school and joined the Dog and Hat team. While I wasn't a coffee drinker before I started, I’m now completely hooked and fascinated by the industry. I truly adore being part of the Dog and Hat family!

Jim Hubbard
eCommerce Ops and Data Analyst
I’m Jim. I’m originally from Sheffield and studied Games Computing & Software Development at Lincoln University before boomeranging back to bother my family near the East Coast. After a good few years working as a Croupier and Poker Room Manager in Scarborough, I moved into Software Development, specialising in Logistics Integration and Financial Processes. That path eventually brought me to the beautiful Food Capital of Yorkshire: Malton.
Following a short sabbatical to rest and level up my home cooking, I met Su and Emma. After just a couple of conversations, it was clear that Dog & Hat’s ethos aligned perfectly with my own. Their environmental focus, strong ethics, and commitment to bringing the best to their customers made it obvious this was a team I wanted to join.
Outside of coffee, I’m a fan of craft beer, cooking, Dungeons & Dragons, and World of Warcraft, so I’m just as likely to be grinding levels as I am grinding beans.
Dog and Hat is run by Su, Emma and Jim. Su and Dave relocated from the South of England to get more involved in the things they love in life - primarily that's their friends & family and their love of good coffee. Dog and Hat has since moved down the road to Malton Enterprise Park.

Our goal is to provide you with an exceptionally varied selection of the highest quality coffees that this country's roasters have to offer with minimal fuss (we also include a few European roasters). We take our environmental responsibility seriously - we don’t print bespoke boxes or glossy leaflets and we only use recycled material, and we make the postman deliver, as he is coming your way anyway.
Dog and Hat also supports a charity each month as we believe that giving back to the community is an important part of doing business right.
