MEET THE ROASTER

Radical Roasters

About Radical Roasters

Bristol

My name is Cat and after years of roasting coffee for other people, I've taken the leap to start my own business.

I'm using my experience as a coffee taster, buyer and judge to select and roast great tasting coffees. The coffee is bought from 2 small-scale coffee importers who I trust. They regularly visit and have built relationships with the farms over the past 20 years. In the new year, I will be running free coffee workshops for marginalised folk to promote more diversity in the coffee industry.

I have also been:

Great Taste Award Coffee Judge
2 X UK Barista Championship semi-finalist
4th in UK Coffee Roasting Championships 2016
SCA UK Sensory Coffee Judge 2017-19
Certified Q Grader (equivalent to wine Sommelier)

Radical Roasters isn’t just about coffee — it’s about doing things differently, building community, and staying true to what’s real. From our first roast to your final sip, we’re here to fuel your day, your dreams, and your radical self.

You’ll find Radical Roasters coffee served across Bristol in local favourites like Ahh Toots, Wilsons, Terra cafe, Chaya canteen and more.

Our Story

Radical Roasters was born out of a love for coffee and community. After years roasting and brewing for other people, Cat decided to take the leap in late 2021, setting up shop in a tiny shed with a 1kg roaster.

She spent all winter in the shed roasting 900g of coffee at a time and 6 months later, borrowed a roaster from Noni's coffee in Stroud. So once a week, would drive from Bristol to Stroud in her Ford Kia with 60kg of coffee in the back seats!
A year later — thanks to sheer graft (and a helping hand from a council grant) — Cat opened the Radical Roasters café + roastery on St. Mark's Road in Easton, Bristol, complete with a shiny new 5 kg Diedrich roaster.

From day one, Radical's been about more than just great tasting coffee: it's about empowering as many people as possible along the way.

Radical Beans

Radical Roasters' coffee is anything but ordinary. Alongside classic single-origin roasts, they're known for pushing into bold, unexpected flavour territory, with co-fermented coffees that introduce fruit, spices, and other ingredients during the fermentation process. The result is a lineup of genuinely interesting, layered flavours you won't find in your average bag of beans, each one roasted with the same care and curiosity that's been part of Radical Roasters since day one.
