Coffee Facts

Every year we look forward to the arrival of fresh Kenyan coffees, and this year is no
different thanks to our newest filter offering, the Muburi Factory AB. Kenyan coffee is
famous for its bold body, juicy berry acidity and earl grey aromatics, and the Muburi Factory AB stood out among the rest this year for exactly those characteristics.
Muburi Factory is owned and operated by Rwama Farmer Cooperative Society, and like
many Kenyan factories, receives cherry from smallholder farmers with an average farm size of less than one hectare.

These farmers deliver SL28 and SL34 (the classic Kenyan
varieties), along with Ruiru 11, which we see more and more of due to its high yield and
strong resistance to disease. The resultant coffee is remarkably full-bodied, with strong bergamot aromas and notes of berry and milk chocolate. Its prominent sweetness combined with a well balanced yet super juicy berry acidity give this coffee a complexity that will please any lover of Kenyan coffees.
