These exceptional coffees originate from two premier high-altitude growing regions in East Africa, situated along the nutrient-rich landscapes of the Albertine Rift and Mount Elgon. One selection hails from the Western Province of Rwanda in the Nyamasheke District, where coffee trees thrive in fertile volcanic soil along the scenic, high-elevation shores of Lake Kivu. The other selection comes from the Upper Bukyabo estate region in Uganda, a zone nestled on the mist-covered slopes of Mount Elgon known for its mineral-dense soil and ideal microclimate. Both regions benefit from elevations stretching well above 1,600 metres, combining intense daytime sun with cool mountain nights to slow fruit maturation, which ultimately concentrates complex sugars and rich, distinct flavor profiles within the beans.
