Rosslyn Coffee has just been named the No. 1 coffee shop in the UK and 12th in Europe in the Europe's 100 Best Coffee Shops 2026 rankings, announced at World of Coffee Brussels this June. It's the latest in a run of accolades for the City of London chain, which has also been named Europe's Best Independent Café and ranked among the Financial Times' Top 30 coffee shops in the world.

Who are Rosslyn Coffee?

Rosslyn was founded in 2018 by Mat Russell and James Hennebry, who brought together the exacting standards of an Australian café with the warmth of an Irish pub. Since opening its first site, the business has grown steadily rather than explosively, and this July it opened its tenth shop, all within the Square Mile.

What makes Rosslyn different

What sets Rosslyn apart from the rest of London's specialty coffee boom is how it has got there. Many rivals have all fuelled their expansion with venture capital, raising tens of millions of pounds between them. Rosslyn has taken none of that money, remaining one of the only major players in London's coffee scene to grow entirely on its own terms.
