
Hello! We’re Jolly Bean, a small family business run from Yorkshire, we roast nestled in the heart of the Calder Valley. We’re a small batch roastery that tries to source and roast tasty and silly coffee. Jolly Bean was born out of a bit of escapism from endless games of powerpoint and email ping pong in work, and over the last 15 years we’ve slowly grown from a 'side hustle’ and a 250g roaster in our kitchen, to a 1KG roaster, 2.5KG roaster, and now a much larger 12KG roaster and warehouse.
Our approach to roasting is to keep things simple. Really simple. Fantastic & ethically sourced coffee, roasted well, that does right by the farmers and producers at origin. It takes about 8 months, or 350, 632 minutes for a coffee cherry to ripen, and depending on the bean, it takes us between 7 and 13 minutes to roast that coffee. Our job is to make sure we don’t muck that up, and that we allow the coffee itself with its natural acidity, body and sweetness to shine. Hope you enjoy. Joel & Lolly.
