We’re Old Spike - The UK’s first social enterprise, speciality coffee roastery. Not only do we roast some of the best speciality coffee around, we are committed to helping those less fortunate with 65% of our profits going directly towards training, supporting and employing people experiencing homelessness.
This is done through an in-house, 8 week course, which offers our homeless trainees the following support:
- Practical and theory based learning
- Mental health support
- Work readiness training
- Financial assistance with accommodation
- Post training employment
Although we ensure that all coffee we source is grown sustainably, this is not necessarily the case for the global coffee market and we thought it was time to do our bit to help.
Since September 2020 for every bag of coffee sold, whether it’s wholesale, retail or subscription we’ve planted a tree to help reverse the effects of deforestation. We hope to help safeguard not only the future of coffee, but also the planet.
