Welcome to the July edition of the UKs favourite coffee subscription where this month we are showcasing some fantastic coffee that also comes with some more inspiring stories.

We have had a last minute change of coffee due to some logistical challenges outside of our control that will hopefully become clear next month when our originally planned coffee finally lands in the subscription... thanks for bearing with us.

On that note, a very warm welcome back goes to Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters from Liverpool who have joined our select band of roasters to have stepped up to the mark and answered our call for help with a last minute headline coffee replacement - so a huge thank you to Chris and the team.

For a change of pace after that, we head up to our favourite coffee city, Edinburgh to feature the wonderful Obadiah Coffee Roasters.

We then have a pair of inspiring social enterprise coffee roasters joining us, both from London:

  • Firstly we welcome back Old Spike where 65% of all their profits go directly towards training and employing people experiencing homelessness here in the UK.
  • We then welcome for the first time SEND Coffee Roasters where all their profits go to providing barista employment opportunities in the UK Coffee industry for people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities.

Don't forget to click the link to see the July Dialled In subscription coffee in more detail.

Remember, if there are any coffees you are not receiving in your subscription option but you like the look of, head over to the members area and add-on a bag or two.

Neighbourhood Coffee (Liverpool, England) - Ethiopia Washed [SCA - 86.5]

As mentioned, Chris and the team over at Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters in Liverpool stepped up at incredibly short notice to provide us with a wonderfully fruity and sweet washed from the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala.

All our 'main subscription' members will be receiving this omni-roast to enjoy with notes of Strawberry, Butterscotch and Vanilla.

Dave's Tip of the Month - go for a finer grind on this coffee and we found it worked best on espresso as a Lungo (1:2.5 ratio).

Obadiah Coffee (Edinburgh, Scotland) - Rwanda Washed [SCA - 85]

For those that know us, they already know that Edinburgh is our favourite coffee city and it's great to be able to feature Obadiah Coffee Roasters this month.

The team at Obadiah has sourced us a washed Rwanda from Lake Kivu region and all our 'main subscription' members will be receiving this omni-roast to enjoy with notes of Stone Fruits and Dark Chocolate.

Old Spike (London, England) - Indonesia Anoxic Honey [SCA - 87]

We last had Old Spike in the subscription back in April last year with a fruity little Colombia natural... and we thought we'd repeat the trick again this year but with a huge tropical fruit bomb Anoxic (no oxygen) Honey processed Indonesian coffee.

We really love the work that Old Spike do to help those suffering from homelessness and the fact they can roast such interesting and high quality coffees for us is fantastic.

All our Bag 3 and Bag 4 'main' subscription members will be receiving this 'fruit-bomb' omni-roast coffee with big tropical notes of Pineapple, Mango and White Tea.

SEND Coffee (London, England) - Uganda Washed [SCA - 84.5]

We came across SEND Coffee Roasters down at the London Coffee Festival and they are another wonderful social enterprise coffee roaster, using their coffee and their platform to help provide jobs in the coffee industry for people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities.

This inspiring mission, coupled with the story behind the coffee we have chosen from the team at Rwenzori Coffee in Uganda is just a double-win for 'doing good with coffee'.

All our Bag 4 'main' subscription members will be receiving this omni-roast coffee to enjoy with notes of Green Apple, Citrus and Muscovado Sugar.

Dialled In Traditional

First up for our Traditional members is a single-origin Brazil natural coffee from Obadiah Coffee with notes of Stone Fruit and Nuts.

Alongside that coffee is the Bendict blend from Old Spike, which is a blend of Brazil and Colombia coffees with notes of Dark Chocolate, Brazil Nut and Toffee.

Dialled In Decaf

Our decaf subscribers will be drinking a Colombia E.A. Decaffeinated double-act from both Obadiah (notes of Maple Syrup, Figs and Cocoa) and Old Spike (notes of Cane Sugar, Hazelnut and Milk Chocolate)
